Adoption of the EURO

With the formal adoption of the Euro currency just around the corner, set to take place on 01.01.08, the government of Cyprus is preparing every sector of the economy during this transition phase.
In 2007 the Parliament of Cyprus enacted Law 33(I)/ 2007 which seeks to regulate the smooth transition from the Cyprus Pound to the Euro currency. The European Directives (EC) 1103/97, (EC) 974/98 and (EC) 2866/98 may also provide guidance.
